It was all my fault...
The roaches in my room have been kind of going crazy lately. I've never seen them in here before and now
I see 2 or 3 a day. My room is still covered in comet bleach powder, I'm afraid it's the only thing deterring roaches
right now... Anyways, I figured out why they are entering my room more. Since my partner is moving in with her pigeon,
I can't use air fresheners anymore. Pigeons have sensitive respiratory systems. I didn't want to buy a new air freshener
that I would only be able to use for a few weeks, so I just started doing the new pigeon friendly way to make my room
smell nice: simmer pots. I've been boiling apple with a good amount of cinnamon and cloves to give my room a fresh scent!
The roaches did not like this
It turns out cinnamon and cloves mess up the roaches sense of direction. I think they might have been coming
in here on accident. After seeing one this morning, I turned off the simmmer pot and didn't make my room smell strongly of
cinnamon and cloves today. I haven't seen another one yet, hopefully the problem is solved. I also ordered caulk to seal the
baseboards since I've seen them escape down there, too. Hopefully the roaches go back to leaving me alone after this!
I was reading that book again
"The Spear Cuts Through Water" by Simon Jimenez. I borrowed it from the library earlier this year but got depressed
and lost my focus and gave up reading it for a while. Since I've had more focus lately, I borrowed it again so I can
try to finish it. The way it's written is really unique and creates a really good flow and pacing, I strongly recommend
reading it.
