The house was initially made using basic cubes within unity, but it didn't look good. So, I moved on to try to build the entire house in blender. It started crashing
before I finished the first floor.
So, I decided the best way to do it was in chunks. For example, one object is just the floor, and another just the walls of the first floor, etc. I only did enough
to get a general idea of what I want. After that I worked on the terrain.
And the same thing happened there, too...
Basically I had tried using multiple methods of adding grass to the game. It made it freeze up and I thought I might have to delete my file and start
over for a second! Thankfully, I was able to erase all the terrain and redo it later.
It turns out most people actually try to use grass and trees minimally because of how demanding they can be, so I have to be careful about how I place them in the future.
I was going to use it in place of having a nice texture on the ground, but eventually I did find some good textures.
Did you see the lotus flowers?
I accidentally erased the material data for it, so no more texture. I couldn't undo or anything and didn't want to waste the effort on something that's
meant to be a placeholder anyways. Eventually I'll make something better, I just have to practice more with blender. Or maybe pay someone to make it for me...
